A data risk platform built the way it should be.
Most data security tools tell you about risk after your sensitive data has already left your environment. HarborMind keeps the scanning and your data in your account, where it belongs.
Why we started
Every modern company has an ocean of data they can't see clearly. Files in collaboration tools, snapshots in object storage, exports nobody remembers making. Somewhere in there is the social security number, the credit card, the medical record that's going to cause the breach.
The category that grew up to solve this, DSPM, CSPM, SSPM, got the problem right and the architecture wrong. Vendors ask you to send your sensitive data to their cloud to scan it. You pay per terabyte. You pay for infrastructure that keeps running. You wait days or months for time to value. You stitch together three different consoles to do one job.
We built HarborMind because there's a better shape for this. Scan in your account. Price per employee, so the bill doesn't balloon as your data does. Spin scanners up when they're needed and tear them down when they're done. Put discovery, posture, and accountability in one place, with the rules under version control.
The name
A harbor is the line where the open water stops being hostile. It is the place ships come back to when the weather turns. A lighthouse is how they get there: a calm, fixed point that guides ships safely to harbor through the fog, the dark, and weather they didn't see coming.
That's the product. Your data lives in something closer to an ocean than a filing cabinet. It spans millions of objects across storage, collaboration tools, and sandbox accounts spun up two quarters ago and forgotten. HarborMind is the lighthouse: steady light across the ocean of data so your team can navigate it without running aground.
"Mind" is the engine behind the beam. Patterns shift. Data shifts. Your environment shifts. The scanner has to think and adapt, not just match. We point that adaptive intelligence at the surface area you already trust, scanning inside your own account, so the harbor in the name stays earned.
What we believe
- Your data stays in your account. Sensitive data shouldn't leave the boundary you already trust just to be scanned for sensitivity.
- Pricing should be predictable. A bigger ocean of data shouldn't mean a surprise invoice. You pay per employee, with generous data-volume tiers that are easy to forecast.
- Posture and ownership belong together. A finding without an owner is a finding that doesn't get fixed.
- Customization is a core feature. Your environment is yours. Your rules should be yours too, in code, in Git, with version control.
- Time to value is measured in minutes. Not days. Not quarters.
